17-May-2008 - Whit Friday Marches
The Community band took part in their first ever Whit Friday March contest. They decided to go round the Tameside area, taking part in 6 contests. The band had an enjoyable experience and are looking forward to next year. Results are due to be published on Tuesday.

20-Dec-2007 - First concert for band
On the 15th of December, the Community band took to the stage for their first ever formal concert at Acton Church in front of a packed audience. They played a varied program including Christmas music, film music, extended works and Christmas carols. The band were well recieved and will be back at Acton Church for a summer concert in 2008.

12-Dec-2007 - Two new players for the community band.
The Community Band is happy to welcome Andy Farmer whos joins on Bb bass and Neil Johnson on Solo Cornet.
This is fantastic news for the band as this leaves only two vancancies left (Percussion and Principal Eb bass).
